My focus is mainly landscape and textiles and favoured media is oils because of the depth and physicality of paint, although I do like to experiment. Different media can change the whole atmosphere of a subject, equally colour, mark and texture are all the elements that give painting a language and meaning. Knitting and textiles have also been an important aspect of my work and changing its use and bringing it to a canvas has brought new meaning which I continue to explore.
I completed a BA in Fine Art in Exeter and then went on to do an MA in drawing at Camberwell University in London. During this time many resources were made available including access to the Princes Drawing School. Drawing has been an important foundation and away of exploring the world around me.
